Children at a primary school in Greenwich have learned how to save the world by saving energy.

Pupils from Millennium Primary School took part energy company E.ON’s “Play in a Day” workshops where they learned how to become more energy wise.

The young actors then practised and performed a play about the importance of saving energy.

Suzanne Doxey, community relations manager at E.ON, said: “We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to bring this workshop to Millennium Primary School, which lies within Greenwich Millennium Village, as part of this year’s tour.

“We currently supply heat and hot water through a local community heating scheme known as district heating to our customers at Greenwich Millennium Village.

“We hope that through engaging with the local community and bringing our energy reduction workshops to local schools we can continue to build on the strong relationships we’ve already developed and offer more support to our local communities.”

Emma Connelly, Year 6 Class Teacher at Millennium Primary School, said: “Our pupils really got involved in E.ON’s Play in a Day workshop.

“By performing the play at the end of the day to the whole school all of the pupils have gained from the activity and picked up some ideas about the steps we can all take around the home to make sure we’re using energy wisely.”
