Baby heroes took to the waters in Greenwich and Lewisham to raise money for charity.

Water Babies, who help teach babies to swim across south east London, held their bi-annual Splashathon fundraiser.

The aim is to raise money to help aid research and development into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and still birth.

This year’s theme was super heroes so parents and babies made a splash dressed up as Spider Man and Cat Woman.

Sarah Ashton, the owner of Water Babies SE London, said: “Splashathon is a brilliant way for our little swimmers to get involved in raising money for charity.

“They get dressed up, get sponsored and have a fantastic time completing their challenges.”

Local lifestyle blogger Hollie Burgess and her son Cameo swim with Water Babies and took part at their Splashathon at Wavelengths in Deptford.

She said: “We both look forward to our Waterbabies class every week. It's one of the best things we've done together.

“Splashathon added even more fun to the lesson and Cameo loved his personal mission and I'm so proud of how he is coming along. We can't wait for next term.”
