The winner of the 2016 Great British Bake Off will join forces with a record-selling cookbook author, food blogger, and internet sensation when nation’s biggest food festival descends on Blackheath next month.

Candice Brown has been announced to appear in both the Chef's Theatre and Cakes and Desserts Theatre at the Foodies Festival that will be at Blackheath Common from July 12 to 14.

She gained a reputation for extraordinary, ambitious yet complex cakes in last year’s series that won her Star Baker three times, tied for the second-most in the competition’s history behind 2014 runner-up Richard Burr.

Candice, who was a secondary school teacher from Bedfordshire before the show, grew up in her parents’ pubs and gained her love for cooking from her grandparents.

She told the Radio Times last year: “My Nan was the best, her baking was amazing.

“I stood next to her on the brown dining chair that I had dragged through the kitchen, watching her in complete adoration.”

She will appear at the Cakes and Desserts Theatre on all three days before joining a cast of top chefs that include one of the judges on the BBC’s The Big Family Cooking Showdown Rosemary Shrager.

Teaming up with Candice will be Ella ‘Deliciously Ella’ Woodward, who was the author of the best-selling debut cookbook since records began when it hit stores in January 2015, beating out Nigella Lawson’s How To Eat and Jamie Oliver’s The Naked Chef.

Even before release, demand for Ella’s cookbook was so high that it had to be re-printed up to six times because of the overwhelming amount of pre-orders.

Now 25, Ella has released another book since then, Deliciously Ella Every Day and has become famed for her recipes that focus on healthy eating.

The Foodies Festival has toured the nation in culinary delights [change] since April 29 in Brighton arrives in London for the last time before ending their road trip in Oxford on September 3.

It also launches the Healthy Living Zone that allows for fans and bakers alike to quiz chefs on health and fitness questions, or learn new recipes with a focus on health and wellness in a masterclass.

The healthy living area will also have a daily timetable of yoga classes from 11.30am to 4.30pm, provided by top yoga studio The Yoga Space, which is included in the ticket.

In addition, some of the UK’s best nutritionists will be on hand to give advice on how to develop healthy living alongside other chefs and experts allowing for goers to improve their lifestyle, and an on-site shopping area with a selection of top health, fitness and nutrition brands.

Day tickets are now on sale at £12 for adults and £10 for students, disable individuals and over 60s.

Three-day tickets are £20 for adults and £16 respectively.
