People who “don’t have a conscience” stole a white van belonging to Greenwich Foodbank
The van, which had stickers with the foodbank logo on it, still had food inside which was going to feed the poor and homeless.
Alan Robinson, chief executive of Greenwich Foodbank, had driven the van back their home in Welling at around 8pm last night, March 22, after delivering food to the foodbank in Woolwich.
However when he had woken up the next morning the van had gone missing.
Esme Robinson, director of Greenwich Foodbank and Alan’s wife, said: “The van didn’t have a lot of food in it, it’s the service for the foodbanks that suffers.
“We really need that van. There are a lot of collections and deliveries that need to be made. We deliver one tonne of food a week.
“It had our stickers on it so it’s not like they didn’t know what the van was. Some people don’t have a conscience I guess.”
