Sadiq Khan has announced a fare freeze until 2020 across the Transport for London network.
City Hall estimates an average £200 saving on average per household.
The Mayor only controls fares on TfL services so Travelcards remain set to rise with inflation.
Mr Khan tweeted: “London- it’s official.
“From January 2017 all @TfL fares will be frozen for the next four years.”
Included in the frozen fares are Pay As You Go journeys on the Tube, DLR, bus and tram tickets, and TfL rail.
Boris bike hire charges will also remain the same.
TfL chief Mike Brown said: “Freezing fares help make our network more affordable for Londoners.
“Our efficiency programme allows us to deliver this while still providing the transport services London needs and also continuing to invest for future demand and growth."
The Mayor is calling on the Government to follow his lead and freeze fares on London’s suburban rail services.
Fares have gone up 42 per cent since 2008 and Londoners pay some of the most expensive fares in London.
