Detectives investigating the murder of Tadas Jarusevicius in Plumstead are appealing for witnesses and information a year on from his death.

Five men previously arrested in connection with the murder of the 29-year-old will have no further action taken against them.

The murder investigation was launched after the body of Mr Jarusevicius was found under a bridge near Plumstead Railway Station at about 2pm on Wednesday, 23 September.

Detective Inspector Louise Knipe from the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: "Tadas died of significant injuries between 22-23 September.

“It is believed that there are still outstanding witnesses or persons who have information. I would urge them to come forward and assist in this investigation.

“They may have vital information to solve this murder. All calls to police will be treated in total confidence. Tadas and his family deserve justice. My team will not rest until those involved are brought before the courts."

In total seven people were arrested on suspicion of murder as part of this investigation.

Mr Jarusevicius was a Lithuanian national who is believed to have resided under the flyover with a group of males.

While enquiries continue to piece together his last movements, detectives believe Mr Jarusevicius was last seen at about 10.30pm on Tuesday, 22 September in and around Mount Pleasant Place, Plumstead.

A post-mortem examination took place at Greenwich Mortuary on Thursday, 24 September and gave a cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and back.
