If you see one of the numbers come up, don't engage
Greenwich Council is warning residents in the borough to be wary of phone calls from con artists pretending to be council officials.
Two members of the public got in touch with the council yesterday (September 21) after being phoned by someone claiming to be from the council's fraud team.
One caller confirmed the call was regarding a debt.
The two numbers used by the scammers are 07502 339 277 and 07855 855 508.
Greenwich Council has said these numbers are not official council numbers and is warning the public not to engage if they receive a call from them.
They are advising not to pick up at all if you see a call coming in from one of the numbers.
