A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Mottingham while out cycling with a friend.

The incident happened around 3.30pm yesterday (July 17) at Foxes Fields, or Mottingham Sports Ground, in Court Farm Road.

She was cycling with an 11-year-old friend in a wooded area when they saw a man coming towards them.

She pushed him away and he ran off towards Dunkery Road.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall and in his mid-30s to 40s.

He was wearing a blue cap and a grey Ralph Lauren T-shirt with shorts.

Detective Constable Kelly Cretten, from Bromley CID, said: "This was clearly a very distressing and scary incident for a 10-year-old girl and we are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who recognises the description of the suspect."
