We’re one month into 2016 but are your New Year’s resolutions for a fitter and healthier you still afloat?

If not, you can jump straight back on the wagon by signing up to march through the night from south-east London to the Kent countryside in aid of children’s adventure charity Wide Horizons.

Last June, about 120 brave walkers trekked in darkness from Avery Hill in Eltham to Chislehurst Common, Sidcup, Joyden’s Wood and Dartford before arriving in the North Downs in Kent.

The Nightline walk, supported by News Shopper raised around £25,000 to help young children across London experience life-changing adventures with Wide Horizons.

And the charity wants even more participants to strap on their boots and train for this year’s hike on June 18 – the year’s longest day.

A Wide Horizons spokesman said: “Every day we see children and young people experience the outdoors in an inspirational way; building their confidence and creating happier, healthier young people with a brighter outlook for their futures.

“By taking part in Nightline you will be raising money for more local children to experience adventures that can change their lives.

“The walk joins up three Wide Horizons Outdoor Centres; giving you the chance to see where our work with children and young people takes place.”

To register for Nightline, go to widehorizons.org.uk/nightline or, for more information, contact the Wide Horizons events team on 020 8294 8160 or email events@widehorizons.org.uk.

If you sign up before February 28, you will be entered into a prize draw to win a two-night break at the Wide Horizons lodge in Llangollen, North Wales.
