Police are hunting a “violent robber” who threatened a man with a gun and a woman with a syringe in two separate crimes in Greenwich.

During the first incident on October 25 the suspect climbed into a BMW after the 59-year-old owner parked it outside his home in Vernham Road.

He threatened the passenger with a gun and a knife, forcing him out of the car, before driving off in the direction of Genesta Road.

Later the same day at around 12.20am police received reports of a man threatening to harm a 45-year-old woman with a syringe at a petrol station in Plumstead Common Road The description of the man matched that of the robbery suspect.

Police have released footage of the suspected robber in the hope of hearing from anyone who may recognise him.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5ft 4ins, wearing a khaki coloured hooded top and loose khaki coloured trousers.
