Police are appealing for witnesses after a "violent" attempted robbery on an 18-year-old woman in Abbey Wood - in which she suffered a "seven-inch cut".
On Thursday, August 20, the teenage victim was walking along New Road at around 8.20pm when she was approached by a man - who tried to steal her handbag.
The woman fought back and she was punched in the face by the suspect - who fled empty-handed.
When she got home, she discovered a seven inch cut to her stomach.
She was taken to hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged.

The suspect is described as black, aged in his early 20s, 6ft tall with a shaved head.
His right eyebrow was pierced with a stud.
