A chinese school celebrated a festival and its 34th anniversary with a magical lion dance.
Greenwich Chinese Community School marked the Dragon boat Festival on June 28 with a colourful lion dance performance by the Pak Mei team.
Pupils, based at Meridian School in Old Woolwich Road, also sang songs and performed dances for around 600 people including the Mayor of Greenwich Councillor Norman Adams.
Headteacher Josephine Chan said this was the first time they had marked the festival, which more commonly sees dragon boat rowing competitions on the Thames.
She said: "It went very well - all the volunteer teachers were very tired by the end.
"All the children loved to see the lion dance. The whole thing left the people feeling in harmony and very warm. It was a happy day."
