Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a Woolwich flat fire last night (December 18).
The London Fire Brigade was called out to Lamport Close at 9.12pm where they rescued the man from a communal hallway.
A spokesman for the brigade said: "Part of a four roomed flat on the second floor was damaged by fire.
"The fire is believed to have been caused by clothing left too close to a heater."
Fire crews had the blaze under control at 9.38pm.
