Thamesmead man arrested for 'preparing act of terrorism'
A Thamesmead man has been arrested today (December 15) on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism, police say.
Officers from the Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 20-year-old in Thamesmead this morning.
A Met Police spokesman said the man had been arrested "on suspicion of Preparing for an act of terrorism contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006" but gave no further details.
He has been taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
