Right in the midst of the city – among the cranes, buildings and bright lights of Greenwich Peninsula – is an urban wildlife oasis, and it’s buzzing with activities this autumn and winter.
The Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park, open since 2002, is the frequent haunt of the likes of a Kingfisher, a Hummingbird Hawkmoth and an Emperor Dragonfly.
Every week, there are family and school visits, Young Urban Ranger workshops and adult training courses, but this Halloween (Friday, October 31) it is holding a special Creatures of the Night event.
Visitors will take part in spider spotting, mask making and night walks to find out what animals are active in the park after dark.
On December 7, the park will host its Winter Fair with nature quiz trails, willow wreath making, hot mince pies and more winter warmers.
