Classic rock band Deep Purple have announced a one-off gig in Greenwich.
The group, most famous for the Smoke on the Water riff beloved of fledgling guitar players worldwide, will play the O2 on December 3 next year.
In the early seventies, the band released three huge albums which catapulted them to superstardom – In Rock (1970), Machine Head (1972) and Made in Japan (1973).
They have not slowed in recent years, with four albums released since 1996 and solo work and special projects from all five members.
Tickets cost £50 and £54 and go on sale at 9am on Friday (October 31). Go to livenation.co.uk or ticketmaster.co.uk
