NEWS Shopper can proudly announce the winner of its first Christmas e-card competition.

Voting lines have been red-hot since we revealed the final 12 in each of the three age groups, with families, friends and neighbours all picking up the phone to vote for their favourite.

For much of the 11 days of voting the result looked like it was going to be closer than the X Factor final, with several designs so close to scooping the top prize.

Lines closed on Sunday and after counting and verifying all the votes, we can announce the winner is Tiffiny-Jade Horton. She is six and is from Downham.

Tiffiny-Jade’s entry will be used as News Shopper’s e-card while she has also won a Kindle Fire e-reader and 100 cards featuring her design to send to family and friends.

The runners up are Anna Preist in the 11 to 14 category and Martha Nobbs who topped the votes in the seven to 10 category. Each has won themselves an iPod Shuffle.

News Shopper editor Andrew Parkes said: “When we launched this competition back in October we had no idea there were so many talented Christmas card designers out there.

“Our judges had a tough job choosing the final 36, and were very glad to let members of the public have the final say about the winner.

“To pick just one we loved would have been too hard. Well done Tiffiny-Jade.”
