LONDONERS are hooked on tea, drinking four cups a day on average a day, according to a new survey.
The survey found that half of Londoners say they need a cup of tea every day in order to function.
The nationwide survey also found that 71 percent of Brits drink more than three cups a day.
The research was conducted by tea-selling website Teapigs which promotes tea made from the whole leaf and not just the tips.
Louise Alan, the website’s tea taster, said: “We’re calling on the public to demand better quality from anywhere that sells and serves tea across the country.
“The shameful brown slop that so often passes as tea just isn’t good enough. Tea drinkers of the UK deserve better. Drink real tea.”
