A 42-YEAR-OLD Woolwich man who stabbed his wife to death days before Christmas when she threatened to divorce him has been jailed for life.
Bentley Huggins was told at the Old Bailey today (December 3) that he must serve a minimum of 20 years for the murder of Desirie Thomas at their home in Elliston House, Wellington Street, on December 23 last year.
The 35-year-old was stabbed 10 times in her face and neck and left in a pool of blood on the floor.
Huggins, who had previously dismissed the case against him as "cock-a-doo crap", denied murder but was found guilty by an Old Bailey jury in a unanimous verdict.
