A BODY recovered from the River Thames has been identified as a missing crew member from a tugboat that capsized.
Shortly after 5pm on August 15 officers from the Mets Marine Policing Unit recovered the body of a man at Convoys Wharf, Deptford.
His next of kin have been informed, and he has been formally identified as 40-year-old Darren Lacey, from Gravesend.
A post-mortem held yesterday (August 17) gave cause of death as drowning.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
If follows a major search and rescue operation for a missing crewmember of the Chiefton, owned by Palmer Marine Services in Katrina Wharf, Gravesend, that capsized on the morning of August 12.
Two crewmembers were rescued.
