A man was knifed in the back and another suffered a head injury after three men reportedly forced their way into a Gravesend home.

The three men, all described as being in their 20s, carried out an alleged aggravated burglary in Poplar Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 23).

Police were called at 4.25am after the trio fled the scene.

It is believed the group drove away in a small black car, possibly a Peugeot or Vauxhall Astra, parked nearby in Ash Road.

The suspects are described as a white man and two black men. It is possible that a black woman may have been driving the car.

Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and a victim was taken to hospital with a wound to his back - believed to have been caused by a knife.

Another man was treated for an injury to his head.

The injuries to both victims are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers at the scene are continuing their enquiries, including house to house door knocks and gathering forensic evidence.
