A Swanley woman felt “stupid” and “embarrassed” after she woke up and saw children staring at her naked through her hotel room window.

Leanne Trevillion, 31, from Swanley Village, claims she was seen because one pane of glass in the window was clear, and not opaque, like it should have been.

The incident happened on Friday morning (July 15) at the Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa in Fawkham, Kent.

The hotel is a “paedophile’s dream” because of the easy access anyone has to look inside Room 35, according to Ms Trevillion.

She told News Shopper: “I was just really surprised at what happened.

News Shopper:

“I stayed at the hotel for one night and when I woke up in the morning, I saw children peering in through one clear pane of glass which was meant to be opaque.

“I immediately called the main desk but couldn’t get through to anyone. I woke up to have kids looking at me naked in bed – I always sleep without clothes. I was just thinking ‘oh my god’.

“It’s a paedophile’s dream hotel because it’s so easy for anyone to see through the window.”

Ms Trevillion was shocked at how staff at the 4-star hotel took so long to answer the phone to deal with her concerns.

She said she felt “stupid” and “embarrassed” after being seen naked.

“I can’t believe I’m the first person to complain about the room,” Ms Trevillion said.

“I feel quite stupid because there are people that I don’t know who have seen me naked – it’s embarrassing.

News Shopper:

“There were probably four children looking in and it was an invasion of my privacy.”

Ms Trevillion went on to add that Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa refunded her night’s stay at the hotel.

A spokesman said: “We were sorry to hear about Leanne Trevillion’s complaint.

“The safety and security of our guests are our top priorities. A full investigation took place immediately, including interviews with security staff and a review of three hours’ CCTV footage from the area in question.

“We found no evidence on film of anyone looking through the window of the room where Leanne was staying – all hotel bedrooms are fitted with high quality curtains to provide privacy to guests at all times.

“We have also replaced the one clear pane of glass with an opaque version in the window of the room.

“As a gesture of goodwill, Leanne was offered and accepted a complimentary night’s stay at Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa in Surrey.”
