A pensioner was mugged whilst shopping in Gravesend town centre yesterday morning (May 17).
The victim, who is reported to be 75 years old, had her purse stolen whilst shopping in the Bonmarche shop in New Road.
Kent Police are investigating the incident, which happened shortly before 11.30am.
Reporting the crime on social media, a friend's daughter claimed the elderly lady was cornered by a gang of four men, who reportedly "laughed" whilst "pushing her to the ground".
The concerned commenter added: "Now she is very frightened and does not want to leave her house."
A police spokesman said: "Officers are continuing with their enquiries into the incident."
