A man has been charged with six driving offences following a fatal crash in Gravesend.
Rimantas Karvelis, 56, from Lithuania, sustained serious head injuries after a hit-and-run incident in London Road on October 24 last year.
He was taken to a London hospital but died 10 days later (November 3).
Mr Karvelis was in the UK to visit one of his two sons who was ill in hospital.
Costica Ciapa, 27, of no fixed address, has been charged with:
• Causing death by dangerous driving
• Dangerous driving
• Failing to stop after a collision
• Failing to report a collision
• Causing death while driving a vehicle unlicensed
• Causing death while driving a vehicle uninsured
Ciapa will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on May 31.
