Firefighters tackled a large haystack blaze in Southfleet for three hours yesterday (September 29).
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the flames in Park Corner Road - where 100 tonnes of hay was alight - just before 5pm.
Crews used a main jet, water shuttle and hydrant to extinguish the fire in surrounding trees and woodland.
They surrounded the main fire just before 5pm, and started using a second main jet.
The incident was reduced to one fire engine just after 7pm.
Fire crews kept watch overnight, allowing the haystack to burn out under controlled conditions.
They have continued to cool the haystack, surrounding vegetation and trees using two main jets - and remain at the scene.
