Lifeboat called as person climbs security barrier to enter water
The Gravesend lifeboat team was called to a person attempting to jump into the water last night (July 26).
The RNLI was diverted from a training exercise to Denton Wharf at 8.30pm, to reports of a person intent on entering the water.

The person had been seen climbing over the security barrier, and was facing a 10m drop into the river.
Shortly after the crew arrived, it was confirmed that the person had been taken into police custody, and the boat was stood down.
