Fire fighters have tackled yet another blaze in grassland at Swanscombe.

Crews tackled a fire the size of almost two football pitches in Stanhope Road just after 5.20pm yesterday (July 21).

The fire was under control by 7pm.

A Kent Fire and Rescure (KFRS spokesman said: "Six fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended the scene.

"Crews used hose reels and beaters to bring the fire under control.

"The cause is not yet known."

The three acre blaze was the fourth outdoor fire battled by crews in just four hours yesterday afternoon (July 21).

Grassland, trees and fences set alight elsewhere in Swanscombe and in Swanley and Northfleet.

No one was believed to be injured in any of the fires.
