South east London and north Kent should brace itself for a wet, windy and possibly thundery week, according to the Met Office.

This morning there will be outbreaks of light rain, which will become heavier and persistent - possibly locally very heavy with gusty winds - before clearing away by mid afternoon.

Sunny spells and isolated showers will follow, with a maximum temperature 16 °C.

Although tonight will be mainly dry with clear periods, isolated showers are possible.

The minimum temperature will be 4 °C.

After a mainly dry and sunny start tomorrow, cloud will build to bring scattered showers, some of which will become heavy with a chance of hail and thunder.

It will be breezy and feel cool, with a maximum temperature of 15 °C.

On Wednesday it will also be breezy and feel cool, with sunshine and showers - some heavy, perhaps thundery.

Thereafter it will be mostly dry, with isolated light showers Thursday, and also slightly warmer with light winds.
