A Swanscombe man has been charged following reports of a racially aggravated assault at a Northfleet supermarket.
William Chambers, 28, of Gunn Road, Swanscombe, was charged on May 11 with theft, assault, racially aggravated assault and threatening a person with a bladed article following the attack at Sainsbury's in Pepper Hill on April 25.
He appeared in Medway Magistrates on May 13 and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on May 29.
