Kent residents are being alerted about a postal calling card scam, asking for payment for parcel delivery.

Kent County Council’s Trading Standards warned on Tuesday (March 24) that local residents have been targeted.

When people ring the number listed on the card, they are asked for bank details in order to pay for re-delivery of the parcel.

A Trading Standards spokesman said: “The National Fraud Intelligence are aware of this type of fraud and they're blocking calls to all telephone numbers provided by reports.

“Unfortunately, as soon as they close down one telephone number, the fraudsters switch to a new one.

"You will never be asked to pay for a missed parcel delivery and you will never be asked for your bank details.”

If you have concerns about a card you have received in the post, report it to Trading Standards by calling the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 03454 040506 or using the online form.
