Former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Genny Jones awarded a trophy to a Gravesend dance company for international happiness day on Friday.
La’Belle Dance Academy was set up as a community project with local funding, offering street dance classes to young people for just £1.00.
They were rewarded by the 2012 BGT contestant, who appeared on the show as her alter-ego Confidence Queen, for bringing happiness to others.
La’Belle founder Bethany Price wanted to offer young people opportunities in fitness and discipline, as well as a sense of belonging and a safe place to meet.
The group meets every Friday at 4.30pm at the Old Miracles Youth Centre in Windsor Road under the guidance of Lucy Price and Bethany Caller.
They offer both ‘littleuns’ and ‘big ones’ classes.
