Gravesend brought in the year of the sheep with a traditional parade through the town centre.
Over 200 people attended the Chinese New Year celebrations yesterday (February 25), which started at 11am in Community Square.
Two dancers dressed as a giant lion led the parade, before being fed Chinese leaves by the Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor John Caller.
The lion scattered the leaves, symbolising good luck and a fresh start.
Chinese dancers, singers, acrobats and martial artists performed in the afternoon and local restaurants put on a Chinese banquet.
