If you want a cheap day out at the football in south-east London then head to The Valley – that is the verdict of the BBC’s Price of Football survey.

The annual survey of how much it costs for fans to watch the game at all levels discovered the cheapest day out in SE7 was just £23.50, less than neighbours Millwall (£31.30) and Crystal Palace (£39.70).

Charlton also offer the cheapest season tickets at £150, well ahead of the lowest price alternatives at The Den (£333) and Selhurst Park (£420).

However, it is worth point out the Eagles’ cheapest season ticket is the best deal for Premier League clubs in London.

For instance, you can expect to fork out a staggering £1,014 a year if you fancy seeing Arsenal in action at the Emirates battling it out until the final day of the season to secure fourth place.

London cheapest Premier League season tickets: Palace (£420), QPR (£499), West Ham (£620), Chelsea (£750), Spurs (£765) and Arsenal (£1,014).

 

The most expensive season ticket at Selhurst Park is £720, again the lowest in the capital.

Other prices for the dearest year-long tickets elsewhere are: Arsenal (£2,013), Spurs (£1,895), Chelsea (£1,250), QPR (£949) and West Ham (£940).

In the Championship, Millwall’s most expensive season ticket is £514, slightly less than the Addicks (£525).

Millwall offer the best value in terms of the most expensive match ticket (£30) ahead of Charlton (£35) and Palace (£40).

If you like wearing a replica shirt then it is the Lions who are marginally the cheapest (£43), with Charlton charging £44 and the Eagles £44.99.

And if you fancy a half-time pie then again the Bermondsey side will do you the best deal at £3.30 ahead of Charlton (£3.50) and Crystal Palace (£4).

The survey also included the Conference, where our duo Dartford and Welling ply their trade.

No figure is provided for the cheapest day out at the Wings, but the average match-day experience watching the Darts will set you back £22.

Dartford’s cheapest and most expensive season tickets are £250 and £300, more than the respective Welling figures of £220 and £285.

Individual game tickets at Park View Road (£15) are also slightly better value for money than at Princes Park (£16), but the Darts offer a cheaper replica top (£34) than the Wings (£39.99).
