A 72-year-old man had £500 stolen from his wallet outside his house in Gravesend, it has been alleged.

Between 12.30pm and 1.15pm on Tuesday (October 7) a man reportedly approached the victim claiming to have carried out gardening work on his home in Old Road East.

When the pensioner got out his wallet to pay, the suspect allegedly stole £500 in cash.

The suspect is described as having a local accent, standing around 6ft tall, aged between 35 and 40 and of large build.

Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries and are continuing to investigate.

No arrests have yet been made.
