Every day we pull some stats from a survey and say have a chat about the findings. Today: What we think of our neighbours.

27 per cent of people have had a problem with a nuisance neighbour in the past year.

Among these people loud voices and arguing top the list of annoyances, suffered by 41 per cent.

Other reasons for neighbours being a nuisance: Loud music and noisy televisions (29 per cent), doors slamming (27 per cent), people stomping around (23 per cent) and noise from pets (21 per cent).

Half those experiencing a problem are left feeling angry and irritable, while 42 per cent feel stressed and 11 per cent are afraid.

Young people are more likely to suffer from a nuisance neighbour, with 33 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds having experienced a problem compared with 17 per cent of those aged 65 and over.
