Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted robbery in Gravesend carried out at gunpoint.

Three men were reportedly threatened by the boys, aged 13, 14, 15 and 16, at around 11pm on Thursday (September 4) in Sheppy Place.

They were arrested at just after midnight in Gillingham having reportedly got on a train back to the Medway town.

Officers recovered a blank firing pistol along with a knife which was allegedly being carried by the 13-year-old suspect.

All four were detained on suspicion of attempted robbery and all but the 16-year-old on suspicion of stealing a bicycle, which is thought to have been taken by three of the group earlier in the evening.

The 13-year-old is also being investigated for allegedly possessing a bladed article, and the 14-year-old for going equipped for theft.

They have been bailed until November 1.
