LENT DAY 35: Well versed in value products

Some famous brands have been struck from my shopping list in the last few weeks.

Trying to cut down on my product placement, let's just say my favourite chocolate beginning with C and my favourite baked beans beginning with H are among the victims.

These are just two items which I now get from value supermarket ranges.

There are loads others I buy too- brie, canned tomatoes, biscuits and cake.

I bought some strawberry mousse for 7p! Although I haven't tried that yet, it might be disgusting.

There are some things that I don't skimp on and that's more expensive bread, porridge and shampoo.

I've found that all those things need to better quality.

I made the mistake of buying some really cheap shampoo from a pound shop which seemed to make my hair greasier than before it was washed.

The cheapest porridge oats seem to explode in the microwave and since I'm eating so much bread- toast, sandwiches and for soup dunking- I thought it best it have some nutrients.

Sorry, but no other chocolate tastes as nice as Cadburys! That's one thing that you can't skimp on.

Well I disagree about the chocolate - nestles is wonderful... but not ethical... Baked beans have to be Heinz... and yes shampoo should be at least mid-price or you might as well buy fairy liqued...

Now I am not sure there is such a thing as bad chocolate so try the ones from Aldi, Netto and Lidl (pronounced Leeedle apparently) Whilst your there tinned tomatoes are for next to nothing. I am sure it costs more to produce the tin they are in than what they charge. Aldi Coral beans are quite nice and Sweet valley Rice pudding is a snip. Now If Aldi are reading this I can supply my address for free samples.
