Cllr Dhesi says 'to say I'm pleased would be an understatement'
5:27am Friday 6th May 2011 in Gravesham Elections By Sophie Maden
AS Labour pushes forward, Mayoral candidate Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi says he hopes his party can do voters justice.
Cllr Dhesi, who was tonight re-elected to the Northfleet North Ward, told News Shopper: "To say I'm pleased would be an understatement.
"I would like to thanks the voters in Gravesham for giving us this vote of confidence.
"It was a good contest."
Cllr Dhesi, who looks set to take over as Gravesham Mayor from Cllr Bill Lambert, added: "Tonight would not have been quite as pleasing had we met defeat."
