LABOUR candidates are optimistic about the result of tonight's council elections, while Conservative council leader Mike Snelling remains tight-lipped.
Councillor Snelling told News Shopper he would not comment on the state of affairs until the final result was revealed.
Meanwhile, Labour candidates hugged one-another and shared jokes as everyone at Woodville Halls awaits the final count.
Liberal Democrat activist James Willis, who joined the count from Dartford, told News Shopper that the Lib Dems' poor national results in local elections so far was expected.
He said: "The coalition may not have done us any favours but hopefully it is doing some benefit to the country."
