An early years teacher from Beckenham has achieved her dream of opening her own nursery in West Wickham.
Mother-of-one Josephine Godbold was joined by prospective parents, carers, community members and the mayor of Bromley Kim Botting to officially open Sunny Kids nursery near West Wickham playing fields.
Miss Godbold gained early years teacher status after studying for a postgraduate degree at the University of Greenwich.
Now she is proud to open the doors to her very own nursery, with hopes of running a holiday club during four weeks of the summer in connection with West Wickham Football Club.
The 36-year-old told News Shopper: “It’s absolutely amazing.
“There’s days you think this is what it’s all about. The reward is seeing the children happy and playing in a lovely way."

On returning to her home town, she said: “I think West Wickham was the ideal place, I know it well and it’s a lovely area with lots of children.”
It has taken Miss Godbold around a year to open the business, which included a five-and-a-half hour Ofsted inspection.
