TWO Russian ballerinas missed a performance of Snow White after being arrested for shoplifting in Primark.

The Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet Company performed at the Woodville Halls, Gravesend, last night (October 31) but was missing two dancers who were being questioned by police.

Woodville Halls venue manager Graham Long said: "The show went on regardless and everyone commented on how they enjoyed it. No-one was aware of any difference. We helped the police with their inquiries."

Mr Long said some of the 30-strong cast went into Gravesend town centre in the hours before the show. Police were then called to Primark where two of the Russian dancers were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.

He added the two girls were cautioned by police and were able to get back on the coach with the rest of the cast at the end of the show.

They then set off for their next show, in Wales.

A north Kent police spokesman said: "Police attended Primark in New Road, Gravesend, at around 2pm on Wednesday. Two 16-year-old women were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting. Both were cautioned and later released by police."
