A DARENTH Brownie leader has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Guide Award.

The award, which is the highest possible accolade in Girl-guiding, was presented to 26-year-old Jennifer Webster, of Northstar Boulevard in Greenhithe.

Recipients of the title – which is comparable to the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award – are recognised for their dedication, skills and commitment to guiding.

Jennifer was recognised while leading the First Darenth Brownies and has organised a host of events during her time with the group, including a Brownie and Girl-guide holiday and a Christmas handicraft event.

On receipt of the award, Jennifer said: “I really enjoyed the different challenges and new people I met while doing the award.”

West Kent county commissioner Lois Derham presented Jennifer with the award and certificate on July 20.
