NEWS Shopper has been praised in parliament for its successful dangerous dog campaign.
Over the last few months our Shop A Dog campaign has been calling for tougher sentences for irresponsible dog owners and for legislation to be extended to include attacks on private land.
In April the government announced the law would indeed be changed to include attacks on private property - therefore protecting workers such as postmen and social carers.
In a debate last week, Dartford MP Gareth Johnson told the House of Commons: "With the number of attacks on the rise I welcome the campaign being run by News Shopper on this issue and hope it will highlight this serious issue.
"It is wrong to train a dog to be aggressive or to neglect it so that it becomes a danger.
"I am supportive of any campaign that promotes responsible dog ownership and I commend News Shopper on its work trying to tackle this serious form of anti-social behaviour."
