Mundil Mahil was jailed for six years for GBH with intent
A WOMAN jailed for her involvement in the death of Bexleyheath TV executive Gagandip Singh will not have her prison sentence extended.
The Solicitor General, Edward Garnier QC MP, decided not to refer Mundil Mahil’s six-year sentence to the Court of Appeal as unduly lenient.
Gagandip’s family had appealed for a longer sentence.
Mahil, aged 20, from Chatham, lured 21-year-old Gagandip to her student flat in Brighton last February.
He was beaten and left to die in a burning car by 20-year-olds Harinder Shoker, of Shooters Hill, Blackheath, and Darren Peters of Charlton Park Lane, Charlton.
They were jailed for 22 years for murder and 12 years for manslaughter respectively.
A spokesman at the Attorney General’s office said the power to refer cases was narrow and that Mahil was not convicted of killing Gagandip.
The spokesman said the sentence reflected the role played by Mahil and that "after looking at all the factors involved, the Solicitor did not consider the sentence to be unduly lenient".
