White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley will host the Why Weight sessions
4:16pm Tuesday 10th April 2012 in Dartford & Swanley news By Kelly Smale
Cabinet member for community and wellbeing, Councillor Pat Bosley
A FREE weight management programme is returning to Swanley to help people get into shape for the summer.
The 12-week course begins on April 26 at White Oak Leisure Centre, in Hilda May Avenue.
People aged 18 and over with at least two stone in weight to loose can take part in the Why Weight sessions.
Each week a food or health related issue comes under the spotlight such as portion sizes and food labels.
At the end of each session there is a chance to take part in a 30 minute gentle exercise class.
Why Weight is supported by Sevenoaks District Council and NHS West Kent.
The council’s cabinet member for community and wellbeing, Councillor Pat Bosley, said: "Why Weight is a wonderful opportunity for people who have been wanting to lose weight but need that extra encouragement.
"They have helped dozens of people in the past and have proven to be a fantastic way to make new friends and motivate each other towards a healthier lifestyle."
