AN AVID swimmer is raising money for his primary school in Swanley by completing a sponsored swim.
High Firs Primary School pupil Thomas Weale, aged 11, is hoping to raise as much cash as possible as a way of saying thank you to his school.
He will swim non-stop for an hour at White Oak Leisure Centre in Hilda May Avenue, Swanley, on May 10 and all money raised will go to the school.
Thomas said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at High Firs and hope my idea to raise some funds will be a memorable and proud moment for me.
“I’ll be inviting a few friends from Year 6 to swim alongside me at different times to encourage me and to keep me going.”
Thomas is leaving High Firs in July to attend Wilmington Grammar School.
He will swim between 5.30pm and 6.30pm without stopping.
