Ebbsfleet Garden City will be getting another 172 homes after plans for more building were approved.

Development firm Countryside was given the green light to add the homes to its final phase in Springhead Park, bringing the total number to 799.

The development will bring a new park, an outdoor gym and allotments to the area in addition to the houses.

Plans have also been announced to build a bridge by the development which will link to Ebbsfleet International Station, which is designed to reduce walking times for commuters.

The bridge is designed to be 87 metres long and will accommodate drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

It is scheduled to open in 2020.

Ian Piper, CEO of the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, said: “Whilst this latest phase from Countryside compliments the existing Springhead Park area it also represents a use of materials and detail which will provide a contemporary and good quality range of two, three and four-bedroom homes for Ebbsfleet Garden City.”
