Swanley railway station is set to have a makeover after more than £1 million of funding was secured by Sevenoaks council.

The total of £1.2 million has been allocated by developers to fund local projects across the country.

A whopping £1 million of the money will be used to transform Swanley and Bat and Ball railway stations, by putting cycle spaces, new signs and more space for walking into the stations.

Other projects that have been awarded money include the improvement of the Darent Valley Path, which runs across the River Darent.

The funding was agreed in a council Cabinet meeting on June 7 with seven projects in total being given funding.
