Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service took more than 90 minutes to put out a fire they had been called to in Dartford town centre.
The blaze, which started at a derelict building on Lowfield Street, broke out shortly after 5pm yesterday (Sunday).
The service was called after plumes of smoke were spotted coming from the building.
Six fire crews wearing breathing equipment tackled the fire, which was brought under control at about 6.40.
A spokeswoman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no casualties were reported but the cause of the fire is unknown.
