A man was taken to hospital after suffering head and body injuries in Swanscombe on Tuesday afternoon.
Several Facebook users reported seeing a man "with his head bleeding" near Craylands Lane, and a police presence with an area "taped off" for most of the afternoon.
Another user reported seeing a man "with a bandage around his head."
A spokeswoman from Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 3pm on Tuesday, April 24, to a report of a man seen in Craylands Lane, Swanscombe, with injuries to his head and body.
"He was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
South East Coast Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
